The Lowrance Ghost has a lot of great features, but one thing that can be annoying is the stuck direction indicator. If this happens to you, don’t worry, there is an easy fix. Simply take a toothpick or something similar and insert it into the hole on the back of the device.

Then rotate the toothpick until the indicator unsticks. This should take care of the problem and you’ll be back to using your Lowrance Ghost in no time!

Lack of a Longer Shaft Option

via @lowrancesouthafrica

The Lowrance Ghost has a shorter shaft option, but not a longer one. This can be frustrating for anglers who need or want a longer shaft to fish from the back of their kayak or canoe.

Lowrance does sell an extension kit that can be added to the Ghost’s transducer arm, but it costs $60 and still doesn’t give you a lot of extra lengths to work with.

If you’re having trouble reaching the water with your Lowrance Ghost transducer, there are a few things you can do to try and solve the problem. One is to purchase the extension kit mentioned above.

Another is to mount the transducer on something that will give you a little more height, like a fishing rod holder. You can also try to find a different location on your kayak or canoe to mount the transducer so that it’s closer to the waterline.

Hopefully, Lowrance will come out with a longer shaft option for the Ghost in the future. In the meantime, anglers will just have to make do with what they have or look for creative solutions to their Lowrance Ghost problems.

Lowrance Ghost problems: how to deal with them-1

1 thought on “Lowrance Ghost Problems: How to Deal with Them”

  1. I purchased my Ghost trolling motor 7/21/22. Last week 6/3/23 the gas shock lift assist froze up while I was deploying the motor causing the lift assist clutch to brake. Trolling motor still worked fine, but I want the AGS gas shock replaced as under the 3 year warranty….. But getting Lowrance to warranty the part has proven difficult because I purchased it from a dealer in Monroe, Louisiana.
